The Nigerian government has identified various sectors in which we can collaborate and deepen the already existing relationship with Saudi Arabia. Nigeria and Saudi Arabia have a long standing economic and bilateral relationship which dates back to pre-independence era, currently the volume of Bilateral trade engagements between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia stood at over USD 1 billion in 2022 which is an increase from previous years but this can be improved upon for shared economic prosperity of both nations. Saudi and Nigeria have common visions for economic growth and development, this is apparent in the common members in several international organizations and close cooperation at that level such as; the United Nations (UN), Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), G77, the International Energy Forum (IEF) and the Non-Aligned Movement.
  • Nigeria is the largest country in Africa by population and Saudi Arabia is the largest Arab country in the Middle East, if both nations continue to strengthen and deepen their political, economic and cultural relationship it will be in the interest of both nations.
